Pagan New Year/Halloween/Samhain/Alfablot/Day of the Dead/All Souls Day happens to be one of the most influential and important holy days/holidays of the entire year – especially around the world in non-Christian/pre-Christian/pre-Western cultures. This day (now observed mainly on October 31st) is considered to be a mystical and even magical time where the “veil” between those who are living and those who’ve passed on  is thinnest.  This is where the now fun Western children’s holiday of Halloween has evolved into, but it has roots that are for more somber and mysterious.  It is on or around this day that many remember or even venerate their lost loved ones – and sometimes even their ancient ancestors.
