In her remarks on Sunday, ‘Normal Mysticism,’ Kari McKim will describe three spontaneous spiritually transformative experiences she had during her twenties, which left her wondering, “What WAS that?!?!?” and will discuss what she’s learned in her efforts to answer that question. Hint: It involves the human brain, consciousness, and the Divine energy that permeates everything.

Kari McKim is a member of the Dakota UU congregation. She was delighted to discover Unitarian Universalism about 30 years ago, when she realized it provided a community and spiritual space where she didn’t have to ‘translate’ religious teachings to match them to what she knows about the nature of the immanent and transcendent Divine.
